Tertullian of the 2nd century said it well, "The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the Church." Basically, when believers are martyred it doesn't cause others to shrink back in fear, but it ignites a fire that brigns more people into the kingdom. That is what we are seeing today through the martyrdom of Charlie Kirk. it has ignited a fire for God in a way that I have never seen in my lifetime.
Young people are turning to God at a record rate. People who have never been to church are finally going. Some have gotten and read the Bible for the first time. Those who have been "on the fence" with faith are going all in. Those who have been lukewarm or stagnant in faith are now on fire for God. I even read of a woman who chose to keep her baby and not abort it due to the impact of Charlie Kirk! God is on the move in miraculous ways!
People are waking up and wanting to make a difference with their lives. At last check, TPUSA has gotten over 57,000 requests for chapters in high schools and colleges across the country. Before Charlies death they had just 1200 high school chapters and 900 college ones.
People are holding prayer vigils all over America and the world! It's truly amazing to see. And as I type this, there are over 70,000 people in State Farm Stadium and thousands more in Desert Diamond Arena, along with almost 1 million tuning in online!
And one thing is for certain, Jesus is glorified and the gospel is preached! Those who would never step foot in a church for whatever reason are hearing the gospel. God is taking what the enemy meant for evil and turning it for good!
So while we mourn the loss of a brother in Christ, we rejoice in the family of God growing through this tragedy. To God be the glory great things He has done!
May the Lord use this to ignite your heart for more of Jesus.
