Yesterday we had our family service. What's that? Four times a year on those 5th Sundays of the month we gather in service as a larger family with our kids present. We have kids serve in various ways. We do our worship, the Bible study, and then close out with a baptism celebration. It's a multigenerational service gathering.
Three gals chose to get baptized. Each is a special testimony of God's power to save. One in particular was a 79 year old gal who said, "I'm following Jesus". It was such a tender holy moment as she descended into the water with help from others. Her son stood beside her as we prayed over her and then baptized her. Even in her weakness God was working wonders.
The testimony is simple: No one is too old for God to save! If you have breath, He's still reaching out. He's a God who sets free! He's a God who takes ashes from sin and makes something beautiful.
Talking with a few after service they told me, "That inspired me to keep sharing with my parents and pray for their salvation." The beautiful work in her inspirted beautiful works through others. That's how God works!
Friends, may we continue to grow in His grace and knowledge of Jesus. And may we remember that God isn't done working in our lives and through us to share Jesus!
